Dinner at 6

Bamboo

Dinner at 6 I can no longer wait for your call
I’ve been waiting for days
It’s hard for me to think you’ve forgotten my number
When we had such a nice chat the other day
Hope nothing serious has happened it’s been a good weekend
Called my mother 3 times
My streaks finally broken
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen such a lovely face
Will nothing spoil my day… let nothing spoil my day
I’m afraid to look
Only to find You could be just like the rest
Give me a sign You think you’ve figured me out
I’m a mess still you want to stay
Like fine wine this keeps getting better with time so what’s the delay
Well I know this all looks bad but underneath it all
But your timing couldn’t be any better this is my curtain call
Well I know you know my name that little look you gave gave you away
So behave I’ll be nice mother I don’t need to be told twice 6 in the morning
I’m still here… I’m still here
What you read in the paper I tell you their lies
Stop looking at me with those vanishing eyes
The gods have spoken and I’m forced to fib it was the night of night
I went out for a little drink
Met up with an old friend said hello
Goodbye… I gotta go Home Only to find nobody
You afraid to take a hard look let me sell you my story
It’s tragic You think you’ve figured me out you still don’t want to stay
Save my tears for later I got something cooking
Let’s not delay… Better behave
Take a better look at myself
Better behave take a closer look at myself
This is a shame
This is a shame
Have I fallen from grace
Have I fallen from grace
I’ve fallen
I’ve fallen
I’ve fallen…

Diner at 6 is a good song, if u listen deeply to the song you will here the new material that bamboo uses. it create more melodic tune for the song and somewhat orchestral sound and includes a deep lyrics of bamboo. I heard a few song from the light, peace, love album. i think this will be a sure hit from them with new approch in their sophomore album, it might not be the same as the debut album (As the Music Plays)but it sounds like different approach to develop their new sound. keep up the good work guyZ!!! Keep On Rockin’

diner at 6 is a very catchy song. like a fusion of sarah mchlachlan’s melodic sentiments and bjork’s errie classical piano themes. intertwined together by rob thomas’s style of hard and sexy rock. polished by bamboo’s creative plays-in-your-head lyrical prowess, and his unmatched and (unpredictable) musical creativity. the song starts with a haunting and slightly operatic piano solo with bamboo’s unique crooning emerging a some sort of mystic environment. and then comes the jazzy classic rock guitar progressions with a seemingly toe-tapping tune that’s genuinely something that i havent heard before. all throughout, the song is a great ride. it will make u feel like standing up and twirl and swirl like a ballerina at the songs beginnings and by the time u reach chorus, u’ll be tapping ur feet and bouncing ur head up and down feeling the jazz rock guitar tune that’s so hard. and by the end u’ll be trapped inside urself looking in, as u read and realize the undoubtedly heart-soaked and intelligently written lyrics imposing a young man’s tragic love for a desire that cant be satisfied but only to wait in vain for something that can never be fathomed. this is a very superior and powerful move for the band (bamboo) to impose their new approach on their music. a serious, experimental and a liitle bit more matured kind of music theme. five stars.

no doubt bamboo (the band) are composed of great musicians! i like the fusion of the instruments, like separate melodies weaved into one…a modern bach.

    to haiku:
i dont know what’s the fuss with cueshe . they just get both the lyrics and the melody (truly madly crazily) from different songs…no originality. ive seen their unplugged in mtv, they dont even sound good. and for the record there is no such thing as “crazily”….

  10. Tony Royster Jr. says:

Bamboo is one of the greatest bands in the Phil. Astig talaga…Halo halo ng genre…Jazz(Vic), Blues(Aira), Prog/Rock(Nathan), kasama pa ang utak ni Bambo na complicated kung magisip…ang sarap ng songs nila…parang Dream Theatre ng Pinas…Dinner at 6 is my fav song d2 sa album na to…Idol talaga…

to haiku…kutu lang yan ang cueshe! wala chans! mga die hard, pathetic, lame, rock star wanna-be’s!!!! hahaha…mga bading yan sila!!!

  11. rovheel says:

It’s complicated yet sultry… the song is enigmatic in its own way added with its contemporary heartache lyrics and Bamboo’s (the band) experimental approach on true musicality. ‘Stig talaga ang Bamboo!

  12. gabriel says:

    classical yet it rock!!!!!!

  13. pochoy says:

proven by this song, still nothing compares to bamboo…

  14. lheny says:

    wow bamboo kakainlove ka talaga

  15. jan michael says:

this solidifies bamboo’s hold on being the best band of our time.. not taking away anything from other local bands! but bamboo is at the top of their game.
